The Temiang-Pantai highway in Negeri Sembilan has gone viral. It has become one of the most trending stretch of road because of its resemblance to New Zealand. Police has issued 48 summonses to the road-users here—mainly because of stopping in the emergency lane for gathering and picture taking purposes which could bring danger to others.
For today's ride, I would like to witness what's all the fuss and hype about. That's why I planned a special route passing through the infamous highway, and then proceed to stop by interesting places and make a round loop back to KL.
The destinations I've set to visit are Temiang-Pantai highway itself, Lenggeng Forest Reserve, Jeram Kedah Waterfall, Semenyih Dam and lastly to take a dip at Kolam Air Panas Batu 16.
The total distance for this ride was about 182km.
In order to witness the sea of clouds at Temiang-Pantai highway, it's advisable to arrive there before 7am. By arriving early, not only that you could enjoy the misty cloud's view but also the morning sunrise.
I started my journey from KL as early as 5.45am, hoping to arrive there before 7am. The morning temperature in KL was around 25 degree Celsius with misty cloud—an indication of rain on the previous night.
Usually, I'll always try to avoid going for a long ride with an empty stomach. However, the food court that usually open during this hour, isn't open yet. I proceed riding to Seremban without breakfast.
On the NSE highway towards Seremban; it started to rain quite heavily. I was struggling to ride because of limited vision caused by the rain and my light tinted visor. I've learned my lesson not to use tinted visor while riding at night or early in the morning in this matter—despite it is advertised for day and night use. Even though it's an Arai's light tinted visor, with the absence of street lamps at night—it's pretty hard to see clearly.
It was exceptionally cold when I'm about to arrive at Temiang-Pantai Lookout Point—thanks to the rain and wind.
To be very honest here, it is just another highway. The sea of clouds doesn't really impressed me, perhaps I've seen a better one in Pahang. However, the greenery view here is quite unique due to its lighter green-yellowish colour that we could only see in a country with four seasons. Nonetheless, I would still recommend a visit here, at least once in a blue moon.
Due to my early arrival, I took the opportunity of the empty road to take a photo.
I rode back to Seremban for breakfast and took a quick shelter from the rain.
I found a Chinese food-court named Restoran Lato—it was the nearest restaurant from Jalan Temiang which is open early in the morning.
I ordered a bowl of clear noodle Kolo Mee and Ice Milk Tea—the food was pretty average. However, I do get to rest for awhile before continue riding towards Kuala Klawang.
There is a signboard at the end of Temiang-Pantai highway's T-junction—noting a direction toward Kuala Klawang. I made a left turn despite my initial route doesn't include Kuala Klawang in the list.
The road towards Kuala Klawang is in pristine condition with some minor potholes that can be easily avoided. There are also some areas that are still under construction—perhaps it's from the landslide due to consistent raining in the past few days.
Kuala Klawang is the largest town of Jelebu District. After exploring the town area and took some photos, I proceed to ride towards Hutan Lipur Lenggeng.
It was a shy 25km road with twisty bend and sharp corners. The ride with my RT3 was indeed a relaxing one, as I don't have to worry about gears and clutches. There're only two things that I need to control: brake and throttle.
The location for this forest reserve is quite secluded. After my ride, I've come to learn that this place was actually haunted. However, without knowingly know that the place was haunted—I feel nothing's wrong or out of the place. The sound of the streams, bird chirping and insect singing produce an ambience that is chill and relaxing.
I regret for not taking a dip here because the stream is a little shallow. I thought that my next stop at Jeram Kedah Waterfall would be a better and a nicer waterfall because of its remote location and not many people know about the place.
As I rode towards the inner side of Kg. Orang Asli Jeram Kedah—the road gets narrower, however, it is still fully composed of tar. After passing through the bridge which was connected by two pieces of wood, the road is now consist only with red soil and gravel.
My small scooter road tyre is no good for a road in this condition. The tyre grip isn't good enough for loose soil which have caused my back tyre to spin and slip. I then decided to walk to the waterfall and park my bike on the side.
I am quite disappointed after I've arrived at the waterfall. It's not as clear as the picture shown online. This perhaps due to heavy rain in the morning. I took some photos and hike back to my bike without showering here. I bet when it's a sunny day, the water would be crystal clear.
I proceed to the last destination of a ride that could never go wrong—hot spring bath. The location of the hot spring is at Batu 16, Kampung Dusun Tua, Hulu Langat. I made a detour to Semenyih Dam and took the hilly route towards Hulu Langat.
at Empangan Semenyih (Semenyih Dam)
As it was approaching lunch time, I stopped by at a Padang Restaurant in Hulu Langat to get take aways to eat in the hot-spring later. I spent RM10 for rice with chicken, beef tendon, veggie and ice-tea which is reasonably cheap.

The hot-spring was only 2km away from the Padang restaurant. It was surprisingly a quiet day and I do get to enjoy the hot-spring all by myself.
The best thing about this hot-spring is the entrance is free of charge. However, they set up a donation box for visitors to donate any amount willingly.
After I ate my lunch, I took a quick nap on one of those benches before dipping inside the hot water.
There's a rule in this hot-spring that forbid you to soak your entire body in the pond due to hygiene purposes. However, it's almost impossible to soak your inside the main pond as the water is definitely too hot. That's why they provided tons of empty paint buckets for you to soak your feet.
After I've done chilling and gardening my myself with hot water. I went for a quick outdoor shower to wash of the sweat and smell from my half day ride. That's all for today's ride. I took an hour journey to ride back home and sent my bike for wash afterwards.
Expenditures:
- Petrol: RM22 (RON95)
- Food: RM18
- Bike wash: RM8
Total: RM48
