RT3 Handlebar Swinging on Highspeed

Image
One of the apparent issues of the RT3 is handlebar wobbling at highspeed. Some owners have it, and some might be the luckier one. However, one thing that most RT3 owners could agree is that the Quality Control could be better. I am the not so lucky one. During my ride back from Melaka, I noticed the steering swinging from left to right and right to left as I am doing Zumba on highway. This event occurred when my speed exceeds 100km/h, if below this, it's smooth sailing –even smoother than my CB500X. Afraid not, this problem can be solved as many has already solved theirs and posted their solutions on the group chat and Facebook. There are three solutions that I can find online, however, I'll just summarize two of them as I've only done two at this moment. I'll also take my scooter for a longer ride, to see how it behaves and will update here accordingly. 1. Tire balancing and alignment The Wmoto RT3 fresh from factory is sent out without any tire balancing done on them....

Welcoming the Wmoto RT3: First 200km on Southwest Peninsular Coastal Riding Impression

The night before picking up my new bike, I have trouble getting a good night's sleep as there are mixed feelings of anxiety and excitement. Firstly, my CB500x is in excellent running condition, thus, it’s fully loaded with three panniers–and all the tits and bits that makes it ready for touring. I feel guilty towards my bank account as I am spending this Wmoto RT3 in cash. I also worried that this RT3 couldn’t meet my expectations and the possibility of getting buyer's remorse. On 12/02/2022, my wife and I drove to Alor Gajah as we found a ready stock with a very good price there. Unfortunately, during our mid-way drive the lady boss notified us that the bike is not ready for collection due to the unresponsive JPJ’s registration website system on Saturday. Since we’re already halfway there, I persuaded my wife to just go there to check on the bike despite it’s a waste of petrol and time. However, this feeling of getting a new toy is hard to contain. We arrived at Alor Gajah a...

Unexpected Twist: Goodbye Nmax 155 V2

Image
It’s a dilemma, a harsh awakening or rather an impulsive decision that I am about to make. I am canceling my booking on the reliable, light, and nimble Japanese made Yamaha Nmax to purchase a Wmoto RT3 instead which I am lucky enough to find a ready stock at a very good price. Here’s why. The price and package offered by the Wmoto RT3 is hard to beat. For a value minded (or rather say calculative) person such am I, I think it is a no-brainer. Wmoto stands for Wawasan Moto, it's a home-brand owned by Mforce — made and distributed by them. However, the RT3 itself is a brand-new maxi-scooter in Malaysia based on the Korean made Daelim XQ250. I believe there are certain kind of bilateral agreement or collaboration  in order for this to happen. Did you know that Daelim used to produce motorcycle under Honda license for the South Korean market? Booking the New Yamaha Nmax 155 V2

After putting some miles on a 200kg machine, travelling north and south, riding on-road and off-road—I crave for the conveniences from a lighter machine despite that my CB500X is a very capable machine. Honestly, I am quite irritated if I am about to take the CB for a short trip like running up to the groceries store or buying some food from Mamak. I feel that all my efforts on gearing-up, maneuvering the unforgiving KL traffic, and parking my heavy CB are rather short-lived than the joy of riding it. Hence, I decided to get myself a second—smaller and lighter bike. Initially, I plan to get a moped bike, or it is rather known widely as “kapchais” in Malaysia. I’ve also done my part on the research and shortlisted two candidates that sparked my interest at the most—the Sym 185 VF3i and Honda RS-X 150. Left: SYM 185 VF3i & Right: Honda RS-X 150 VF3i is rather indeed a capable highway muncher with its 185cc engine which is the biggest engine displacement in its class. Another un...
